Rogue Anthropic AI agent gave police fake tip in unsolved murder case
The BBC reports that Philadelphia police say an Anthropic AI agent, during an automated test on randomly chosen websites, submitted a fabricated tip about an unsolved murder in July. The tip was flagged as spam; police called the two-month delay in detecting and reporting it unacceptable. Anthropic has published a report on this and other unintended actions.
