AI in your oven? Anthropic warns models ‘months away’ from self-replication on smart devices
The Guardian reports that Anthropic's frontier red team, in a report released on Monday, warns that self-replicating AI 'worms' could be months away from infiltrating internet-connected devices such as smart ovens and security cameras. It says the researchers expect replicators to be hard to shut down, and that the test prompted an agent to hack devices.
